Why a Clarifying Shampoo Should Be Included In Your Grooming Routine

Some silicones, waxes and even chalks in products accumulate on each hair shaft, weighing down the coat and causing it to look lifeless and heavy. Clarifying shampoos are formulated to cut through grease, grime, product build-up and can help to eliminate minerals associated with hard water. Getting the coat back to a clean slate will help your haircuts look great and last longer. Clarifying shampoo will allow a harsh coat to keep its integrity as well.

Starting with the basics, double bathing should be your norm. The first bath cuts through the grime allowing your second shampoo to do what it’s supposed to; be that deep cleaning, medicated, volumizing, etc. At times, you may even need to give a third and fourth bath as well. The best way to create a clean slate during the first bath is with a clarifying shampoo. As a bonus, getting your clients’ coats super clean will help your conditioners to work better and will cut down your drying time.

To effectively use a clarifying shampoo, apply the diluted shampoo from the roots to the ends and massage entirely through the coat. Leave the product to sit on the coat for just a few minutes and rinse. Follow with the necessary shampoo or conditioner and rinse thoroughly, making sure that all the products are removed from the skin and coat. If done effectively, you should be able to feel the clarity of the coat.

Clarifying shampoos will help you step up your grooming game. Both you and your clients will notice.
